Leather Care

Our leather goods are made with oil tanned leather.  This means that the hide is already treated with oil and wax.  This tanning method keeps the leather conditioned for a long time, you will only need to treat it every once in a while.  Choose a good leather conditioner or oil and test it in a small inconspicuous spot on your bag before fully treating it.  Oil tanned leather will age with you, and just look better after every wear!

 

Do you ship internationally?

In most cases yes!  Message me with your EXACT address to calculate shipping.  Most orders can be sent First Class mail (10-20 days) or Priority Mail (7-10 days), which comes with tracking.  Buyer assumes all responsibility for taxes and assessments that may be charged by your country.

Can you do custom sizes?

Yes!  Porter totes and Rustic totes are available in almost any size.  Size adjustments generally cost an additional $20 for each direction (height and width).  Strap length can be custom as well. 

Is this leather thick enough to be used as a work bag?

If you are wanting to use your new tote as a work bag, the best fit is the Porter tote.  It is made out of 6 oz. oiled and waxed leather and can hold the weight of a laptop and folders, small notebooks, etc.  The tall will easily fit a 13” MacBook, the short will fit it as well, it will just stick out of the top about 2”.

What is the difference between the Porter leather and the Rustic leather?

Porter leather is the thickest leather H+D uses, 6oz.  The Rustic leather is about 4oz.  Both are full grain leather with a ‘pull up’ effect, which causes it to show creases and marks and gives it a really awesome worn in and rustic look.  Both leathers are waxed and oiled and require minimal care!

How are orders shipped?

All orders are shipped via USPS Priority mail, 2-3 day delivery.  You will receive an email with tracking information once your package is on its way! Not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages, double check shipping address is correct.

Can orders be returned or exchanged?

Extended return window. Orders Placed 11/19-12/18 need to be returned by 1/10/18.

Yes, orders may be returned or exchanged within 7 days of receiving them.  You must contact me to initiate the return.  I will refund the purchase price less shipping once I receive the undamaged item.  Items need to be returned in boxes not bags or envelopes (they get damaged in the mail).  For exchanges your original shipping cost will be refunded once the item is received and you will either be refunded the difference of your new item or invoiced for the overage + shipping. No returns on international orders.  If you are buying an item in advance for a gift, please note in your order that you will need more than the 7 day return period.  No returns on custom orders.

+ No returns on custom orders, sale items, or international orders. Buyers are responsible for any import taxes, VAT, or customs fee that may apply. We are not responsible for any delays due to customs. If you refuse a package due to declining the payment of customs and the package is sent back to the United States, unused, undamaged, and unopened, you will be refunded the shipping price only and not for the purchase price.

+ Items need to be returned in a BOX, not bags or envelopes (they are likely to get damaged and crumpled in envelopes). If you return an item in a bag or envelope you will be subject to a 50% restocking fee. In order to ensure delivery, it is highly recommended that you get tracking with your order.

+ For exchanges you will either be refunded the difference of your new item or invoiced for the overage + shipping. If you are buying an item in advance for a gift, please note in your order that you will need more than the 7 day return period.

+ Not responsible for lost or stolen packages, double check shipping address is correct. Orders returned due to incorrect address will be shipped at buyers expense.
